I'm so very blessed to have friends who enable my book addiction.  A friend who recently moved away (but has since moved back) recently hit up the library sale in her new town and brought me bags (yes with an S) of books!  This was one of them.  Crichton is known for amazing stories and I can't wait to have time to immerse myself into this one!

Remember when I told you about the download spree I went on when Beth Moore had a bunch of her books on sale?  You don't, well it's been a minute.  Here's another one that I was so excited to get my hands on and then didn't quite follow through on the excitement.  That will change... Just books, so many books!

One novel, two stories.  One not overly sure where I came across this book but it's set on the shelf for entirely too long and looks ever so very interesting.

I'm on vacation this week so perhaps it's the perfect time to dig this off my Kindle, where it's sat for just over 4 years and actually read it.  Or better use it for it's intended purpose.  Or not, I mean it's vacay time right?

James Patterson holds a candle for writing amazing mystery and suspense novels.  I have a few on my shelves, some I've read a time or twenty and some that have been gifted over but haven't made it to through the read pile yet.  This weeks to read or well, to re-read is an Alex Cross novel by Patterson.

Alex Cross is back in a novel with a cast of characters more sinister and deadlier than ever. Gary Soneji, a dying prison escapee, is looking for revenge on Cross, while another insane killer is pursued by Thomas Augustine Pierce--a brilliant and relentless detective who may even be better than Cross. As the bodies pile up, and Cross is nearly murdered in his own home, the game of cat and mouse leads to one final trap, and it's anyone's guess who will survive.

I've never been one to go back and read all the classics.  I've read a few because well school.  I picked this up for my Kindle a couple of years ago since it's free public domain.  It's been translated to English and everything for me.  I've picked it up a time or two and then gotten distracted.  I've got to make time to change that.  Perhaps sharing it here will shame me into reading/finishing it?

 Library book sales are one of my favorite things in the world.  Books, lots and lots of books at really really good deals.  I don't necessarily make it to the sales myself but I have friends who love me.  Friends who bring me boxes and bags of books.  This is one of those finds that I'd honestly never heard of but sounds interesting.  I'm not sure I'd like a movie version but the book version is calling my name from that stack on the bookshelf.

 Since it's Minions Week on the blog again it seems only relevant to pull a book that I've had sitting on my Kindle list for a while aimed at the Kidlets.  A free public domain book, this is a collection of original fairy tales.  No frills, no illustrations, I'm curious if they are the sugar coated version I grew up with or the real deal they were original written and meant to be?  I guess when I get around to actually reading about it I will know the answer!

 In case you haven't been paying attention, I'm an eclectic reader.  I'll read close to almost anything.  Today's selection is a Dean Koontz that's been on my shelf for a minute.  I've read a lot of his books but I for every book I read I discover two more I haven't.  Here is one more of my library sale finds that I still need to read.

 Whether you love her or could care less Beth Moore is a powerhouse in the world of Christian living and faith.  I've always liked her personally and a couple of years ago I accidentally stumbled upon a bunch of her books on sale (read FREE) at Amazon.  I download to my hearts content but then never actually READ them.  That will change.

Back to the bookcase and a plethora of books to choose from.  Seriously, I need more bookcases and I have more than a couple!  The book I'm choosing this week is a bit different than one's I've previously showcased or even reviewed in quite a while.  But then again, from time to time I enjoy a well written 'bodice ripper' and being set in the early 1800's England just adds to it. 

In a moment of recklessness, Gervase Tregarth, 6th Earl of Crowhurst, swears he'll marry the next eligible lady to cross his path. Cloistered at his ancestral castle in Cornwall, with nary a suitable woman for miles, he never expects he'll have to fulfill his pledge, at least not until the London Season begins. But then he meets his neighbor, the very appealing Madeline Gascoigne.

Years of secret service to the Crown have taught Gervase the value of always having a loophole—there will be no wedding if he and Madeline are incompatible in any way. So he sets out to prove that they would make a most dreadful match . . . by luring her into his arms and, ultimately, his bed.

Another oldie but goodie from my Kindle library.  I downloaded this book back in May of 2013 and feel like it's another one I may have read before but not overly certain.  I know Ma read it recently and really liked it.  She liked it enough to actually write a small review!  Proof, my friends, that peer pressure works.  I really am hoping to get back to this one sometime in near future because the premise sounds engaging, will tug on the heart a bit, and I have a feeling I'll like it.

Vince Glasser, an overworked federal agent and single father with a troubled past, already has enough on his plate when he is diagnosed with terminal cancer. He deals with it the only way he knows how--by fighting the illness with everything he has in him. Along his path toward a certain end, he mends relations with his estranged brother, reexamines his faith, prepares his son to live life without his parents, and finds room for romance with his longtime partner, Angela Hawkins.

Angela finds herself falling in love not only with Vince, but also with his young son, Charlie. In caring for both of them, she sees that despite decades-old mistakes that have left her in a pattern of empty relationships, she can still find redemption and have the family she's always wanted. But a nagging feeling tells her that death isn't the only thing that threatens to tear her new family from her grasp.

 Last year for Munchkin's birthday I picked up this book for him.  A story for a middle grade reader from an author that I love.  Finding middle grade level books that are still approriate for Munchkin at his younger age is hard!  And as he is actually more a young adult reading level is even harder!  I've skimmed it, I've looked over it but I've never sat down and read it properly.  That has to change, soon.

I feel like maybe, perhaps I might have read this some years ago.  Maybe.  It's been in my Kindle library since May of 2013.  It sounds so interesting to me!

 This book is find from a friend of mine.  It was part of a library sale in her hometown and she picked it up, plus a box full of others for me.  My friends do know how to make me happy!  The premise of the book speaks to me but I just haven't had time to sit down with it. Perhaps by moving it to the bedside I'll start making progress?

 I've picked this book up and started it so many times and then one thing or another happens and it's distraction city.  It seems like a really good book, an engaging story, and perhaps characters I could really bond with...if I could stay committed to the task.  Perhaps if I move it from the shelf to the bedside I might follow through?

 This book is such a classic that I read and loved during my childhood.  It's one that has stayed with me throughout adulthood and even read it as recently as last year.  I'm including it here because A) I've never reviewed it and B) it's one that I want to read together with MooMoo.  I don't know that she's yet at an age were she will appreciate it however she's not too far off either.  (Side note: this book is now considered public domain and available free for your Kindle or Kindle App.)

Following the lives of four sisters on a journey out of adolescence, Louisa May Alcott's Little Women explores the difficulties associated with gender roles in a Post-Civil War America.
